RCA
All of the RCA records that are
within the scope of this documentation are primarily on a black
label with a dog at the top. Most are machine stamped in the dead
wax. A variation worth noting
is the addition of a pair of horizontal silver lines added to some
releases. These are merely variations,
although they are usually worth a little more than their counterparts without
the lines. The first three
reproductions listed below were released in 1951 on the blue/green label that
preceded the black
label. This label should not be confused with the green label used by RCA
for country records. The
record number on the country label was prefixed with the number 48. The
releases described here
were prefixed with 47. The early gray label carried a 50 prefix.
